Outside Funding Opportunity: IDRC South Asian Think Tank Initiative
From time to time, we will publish opportunities for experts in Asian security to secure funding, attend conferences and otherwise develop their institutions and careers, even if these opportunities are not supported by the MacArthur Foundation. If you have an opportunity you’d like to publicize, please e-mail us at asiblog at macfound.org.
On July 27, the International Research Development Centre will launch its call for expressions of interest for its Think Tank Initiative. This round will focus on institutions from South Asia (as well as Latin America). The IDRC “invites applications from independent policy research organizations in South Asia that are committed to using research to inform and influence national-level social and economic policy, mainly in the areas of growth, equity and poverty reduction. The Initiative will provide multi-year core funding and technical support to successful think tanks.”
Think tanks from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be eligible to apply, up to the September 28, 2009, deadline. Please see the Think Tank Initiative web site and contact the IDRC directly for additional information.
