The Ilmin International Relations Institute at Korea University has released the fourth paper in its policy briefing series, by Joel Wit of Columbia University.
Wit writes:
... the political challenges presented by North Korean instability may prove even more problematic [than the security challenges]. The most obvious is the difficulties likely to be encountered in dealing with China. Avoiding miscommunication and confrontation between the United States and South Korea on the one hand and China on the other as each move to secure what may be differing national interests could prove difficult.”
